7.0 What is Your Catchphrase?

7.0 What is "What is Your Catchphrase?"
Really now, what is up with this topic? Does it not sound wasteful to think of something so simple that it ridicules us? The answer is: NO. The answer is capitalized to express the strength of having our own catchphrase of words, whom some people may also call it a tagline, slogan, mantra, quotation, words of wisdom, and the list goes on. Elements to take account in creating our own catchphrase are, for example, as following:
  1. Practicality - it must be realistic, able to be practiced and achieved.
  2. Differentiation - it must be different for it is what makes you unique, and distinguished from the rest.
  3. Evolution - an additional quality, it must have the ability to evolve from a basic element into another that is better.

7.1 Creating Your Catchphrase

A pre-start before proceeding further. This topic was ideally initiated by Gretchen Rubin, wherein she uploaded a video in her Youtube channel entitled "Use a Short Phrase to Sum Up a Large Idea". A brief introduction of her: Gretchen Rubin, a writer, is ranked #1 New York Times Bestseller due to her vast compelling skills and knowledge within editorial and publications. Amongst many areas she specialized are inclusive of happiness, positive psychology, self-empowerment, etc.

7.1.1 The Subject
To begin with, what is that one particular subject you remarkably excel? Let's take the example from one of the elements - self-accountable - from this project. On a side note, there can be two or more different subjects synthesized into a core. Yes, there can be a combination of multiple subjects for a core to result, therein making it even sturdier. The fundamental rule though is that they must be adaptable for multiple subjects to be combined. A simple example would be an "accountable team player". Food for thought: What do we firsthand perceive regarding this example of combined subjects (accountable + team player)?

7.1.2 The Catchphrase
Taking self-accountability into the subject, the next step is to create a catchphrase that suits the subject. The appropriate count of words for a catchphrase should not be more than ten. Nevertheless, this rule is subjective. Its fundamental rules are easily understood and not lengthy. In addition, a strong phrase will be a great quality to emphasize. Nike's catchphrase of "Just Do It" sets as a great examplery. Nike's "Just Do It" emphasizes on doing an action as we please, before it's late. Wish to know where does it take its origin? On that note, an example for the catchphrase of self-accountability would be "role-play a game".

7.1.3 The Elaboration
Moving on to the last stage, the elaboration. In this stage, our elaboration for the catchphrase should have the element of clarity. Elaborate it as much as we want, but discounting the element of clarity would diminish the value in having the catchphrase. Clarity is a very powerful element to possess, in a nutshell. Therefore, how should we elaborate the catchphrase of "role-play a game"? Here's an idea of food for thought: "Role-play a game, bluntly, means playing a role of a game. What is a game? A game is something that initiates the player's emotion of fun, which results in its addiction. The role is an objective(s) provided in the game for us to achieve, whereas the word "play" refers to us playing it. All of the three words are inter-connected, which if we view any task in this world in the perspective of playing a game, it would turn out to be joyful and addictive.". The italic sentence acts as the elaboration's vital summarization.

Summing it all, the subject(s) of the catchphrase acts as its core. The catchphrase must be something that amazes the audience, and primarily ourselves. Finally, the elaboration must be clear to be understood.

A plus note on constantly branding our personality. Include our catchphrase together with the things we carry. What are the things that we carry? One simplest example for the millennial generation: mobile phone. Set it up creatively, and it will prove to be effective.

I hope this topic will benefit you as much as it has benefited me, wala hawla wala kuwatta ila billah. Insha'Allah, the next topic will be posted in the near future.
